Nichols appoints THG exec as new CFO

(Sharecast News) - Vimto, Sunkist and SLUSH PUPPiE maker Nichols has snapped up THG's deputy chief financial officer to lead the finance function of the soft drinks group. Matthew Rothwell, who started his career at Deloitte before moving into senior finance roles at Asda and Sainsbury's, has been the deputy CFO at ecommerce group THG for eight years.

"The board is confident that his expertise and strategic insight will be instrumental in supporting the group's continued development and growth," Nichols said in a statement on Tuesday.

The appointment, which is expected to happen at some point before mid-April next year, will see interim finance director David Tayloy step down at the end of this month after nine months in the role, with financial controller Rebecca Hughes stepping in as a temporary replacement.

Chair Liz McMekan said the appointment followed a "comprehensive and diligent search process" and "reflects our commitment to attracting high-calibre leadership, and his experience and capabilities align very well with our strategic priorities".

Nichols' share price was up 0.5% at 1,030p by 0950 GMT, while THG gained 1.7% to 45.02p.
