3i Group considers sale of data centre maintenance provider Evernex - report

(Sharecast News) - Private equity firm 3i Group is reportedly exploring exit options including a sale for Evernex, a French provider of third-party maintenance services for data centre infrastructure. Bloomberg cited people familiar with the matter as saying that 3i is working with Bank of America on the potential deal, which could value Evernex at between €1.2bn and €1.5bn.

It was understood that considerations are preliminary and 3i could still decide to keep the business for longer. Representatives for 3i and Bank of America declined to comment to Bloomberg.

3i bought Evernex from Carlyle Group in October 2019 for an undisclosed sum.

Evernex maintains IT systems for companies, with a presence in more than 165 countries and over 15,000 clients, according to its website.

At 0845 BST, the shares were up 3.3% at 4,277p, also likely boosted by an upgrade to 'buy' from 'neutral' at UBS.
