How to manage your ISA - top-ups and switches

Register for our free online Account Management service and you can monitor the performance of your ISAs, add to your portfolio and make changes to your investments whenever you want.

Adding to your investment

  • You can make changes to your account 24/7 online
  • Minimum top-up of £250 when you add to your ISA or Junior ISA

Switching

If you are disappointed with the performance of your fund or want to change the mix of funds in your portfolio, you can switch.

  • Switch transactions will normally be processed within the course of two consecutive days, although this may take longer for other fund managers' funds due to dealing cut-off point
  • You will be out of the market while you switch between funds. This could work in your favour if the market falls but if it rises you could miss out on growth and income
  • No switching fee when you change funds in your ISA or Junior ISA. Please note that some fund managers will apply additional costs when buying or selling their funds.

How to top up or switch
To top up or switch your funds, log in, select your account from dealing and new accounts page and follow the instructions.

If you are not yet using Account Management, please register online. Once you have your PIN, you can make changes to your account at any time.

Move existing funds into an ISA
You can use money invested in your investment accounts and move it to a tax efficient ISA. This can be referred to as ‘Bed and ISA’. Funds held in non ISA accounts can be sold and the proceeds invested in a ISA. When switching, please note some fund managers will apply additional costs when buying or selling their funds. Please note the value of investments may go down as well as up, and you may not get back what you invest. Eligibility to invest in an ISA will depend on personal circumstances, and all tax rules may change in the future. Fidelity Personal Investing gives information on products and services but does not offer advice based on personal circumstances. If you are unsure of the suitability of an investment, please speak to an authorised financial adviser.
