Fund Objective The aim of the Fund is to grow the amount you invested. At least two-thirds of the Funds assets will be in long and short positions in UK companies or companies that have significant operations there. The Fund invests directly in shares or by using derivatives. Derivatives are sophisticated investment instruments linked to the rise and fall of the price of other assets. Derivatives will be used to obtain, increase or reduce exposure to underlying assets and may create gearing. Where gearing is created, the net asset value of the Fund may experience more fluctuation than if there were no gearing. The Fund will also use derivatives for short selling. The Funds investment approach means it will typically hold a small number of investments compared with other funds.

For funds that invest in bonds, please be aware that the price of bonds is influenced by movements in interest rates, changes in the credit rating of bond issuers, and other factors such as inflation and market dynamics. In general, as interest rates rise the price of a bond will fall. The risk of default is based on the issuer's ability to make interest payments and to repay the loan at maturity. Default risk may therefore vary between different government issuers as well as between different corporate issuers.
