Ahmed Awny (CFA) is based in Dubai. He has equity research responsibility for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Sub-Saharan regions. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2007, he was an investment manager for a large fund in Dubai, worked in the Private Equity Division of an Egyptian holding company and was a bank analyst for EFG-Hermes. He entered the financial services industry in 1998. Mr. Ahmed holds a B.Comm in accounting from Ain Shams Univ. and speaks English and Arabic.


David Haglund is a senior executive director and portfolio manager of the Templeton Frontier Market strategies and the (MENA) mandates. Mr. Haglund has been based in UAE since 2004. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2007, Mr. Haglund held investment banking and private equity positions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Preceding arriving to UAE, he was working within the asset management field in Sweden. Mr. Haglund holds an M.S. in Business Administration and Economics from Lund University in Sweden. His education also encompassed studies at the National University in Singapore.
