Stuart graduated in Law from Glasgow University in 1984 and joined Scottish Mutual as a Trainee Investment Analyst in 1985. In 1987 he joined FS Assurance as Fund Manager responsible for European Equities. In 1990, Stuart was appointed head of the European Equity team on the creation of Britannia Investment Managers. Stuart joined Standard Life in 1996, as Investment Manager with prime responsibility for the European Retail Pension Fund.


Mark Peden joined Scottish Equitable in 1992 as an analyst within the European equity team. In 1994 he became the Portfolio Manager for the European Tactical fund and in 1998 was appointed Head of European Equities. In addition to his responsibilities as desk head Mark was also a member of the Global Investment Strategy Group between 1998 and 2001. In 2002 Mark was appointed Head of Retail Equity Funds when he also took on the fund manager role for the UK Equity Growth fund.
