Easy Invest

Often, the most difficult part of a task is taking the first step. With investing particularly, there's such a wealth of choice, and so many things to consider and research that it's sometimes hard to know where to begin.

ISA investing made simple

We've suggested an investment if you're not sure where to start.

  • Begin investing from as little as £50
  • One, low-cost fund, the Fidelity World Index Fund, invested in a variety of well-known companies
  • Get tailored guidance and support for the first year

The fund we're suggesting

The Fidelity World Index Fund

This fund aims to give investors access to some of the world’s biggest companies and their collective share price performance.

To do this, the fund closely follows the value of the MSCI World Index, which keeps track of these companies, and spreads investors’ money across them all. This keeps costs low and makes sure investors are well-diversified.

  • The fund monitors and changes the companies in line with the index, so you don’t have to
  • It’s a great way to own a slice of different companies, and spread risk across a wide range of shares
  • We’ve arranged a discounted 0.1% charge on the fund (usually 0.12%), which pays for running costs.

The information on this page isn’t a personal recommendation for the Fidelity Index World Fund, so if you’re not sure it's right for you, please speak to an authorised financial adviser.

Risks and things to consider

Investing in funds or in the stock market is all about trying to beat the returns you'd get if you saved your money as cash.

  • It's important to remember that while cash is guaranteed, the value of investments can go down as well as up, so you might get back less than you invest.
  • Investing should be viewed as a long term... thing

How much does this cost?

You can benefit from our low 0.35% service fee if you invest more than £7,500, or if you set up a regular savings plan. If you were to invest £1,000 over one year, using a regular savings plan, your charges would break down like this:

Fund manager charge

This covers the cost of running the fund which includes our discount

Service fee

+ £1.90

The fee you pay for holding an account with Fidelity

Annual total

= £2.90

Based on investing £1,000 over a year using a regular savings plan

If you hold less than £7,500 with Fidelity and do not have a regular savings plan, our service fee is £45 for the year. Read more about our fees and charges.
