Fidelity Special Values PLC is a stock-picking portfolio that invests mainly in UK-listed companies, although it usually has about 15–20% of its portfolio in other countries. It aims to achieve long-term capital growth from "special situations" investments, mainly in the securities of UK listed companies.
The fund manager looks for small and medium-sized businesses which are undervalued, possibly due to restructure, potential takeover or being unfashionable.
Most of the companies that the trust invests in are worth between £50 million and £500 million, although it does hold some much larger companies.
